Greetings!
It has been a busy year for us here at Maithri Aquatech. I am happy to share with you some of the significant milestones we achieved during the last year. We have partnered with some of the biggest Fortune 500 companies of global repute, and installed our MEGHDOOT Air-Water plants, in their campuses to meet their potable water requirements, thereby making them net producers, instead of net consumers, of water. Apart from these, ONGC has installed MEGHDOOT at one of their oil rigs, which is expected to make water availability for them much more convenient and economical.
Our efforts in building a new source of water were successfully highlighted at the Smart City Smart Urbanization (SCSU 2022) conference held in Surat Smart City where we were invited to showcase MEGHDOOT. I am proud to inform you that apart from participating in the Conference, Maithri Aquatech supplied drinking water during the entire event, generating over 3200 litres of freshwater from air and saving over 6400 litres of groundwater.
Maithri Aquatech was also featured in Sansad TV’s, “The Journey of Startups”, a program that showcases innovative startups and discusses their challenges and successes.
The Company partnered with CONTEC Global, a UK-based multi-national company, to facilitate the sale of MEGHDOOT across Africa and the Middle East. The partnership will bring together valuable skills in sustainable water solution development, deployment and social impact strategy for a positive step towards Water and Food security, through innovative Air-to-Water solutions.
Maithri Aquatech also set up the world’s first packaged water bottling plant generating ‘water from air’, for USATA Enterprises Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad.
Our sustained efforts won us many accolades at prestigious fora during the last year. Maithri Aquatech won ‘Gold’ in the 'Best Startup' category of the prestigious Telangana State Industry Awards 2021. The Company was also ranked as one of the top 10 companies in the "Top Innovative MSMEs" category by ETRise, a Times Internet product and an initiative of The Economic Times.
The REWIND section in this issue of AquaBuzz talks about more highlights of the year at Maithri Aquatech. Apart from that, the newsletter discusses ‘Virtual Water’ - the water that goes into the production of goods, be it in the actual production process, or the water that gets contaminated in the entire creation cycle. When we look at everyday objects around us – the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the vehicles we travel in, etc., we don’t think of water. Yet each of these has a water footprint - more than we can imagine. The concept of virtual water is important not only for water conservation but also in terms of ‘trade’ or ‘transfer’ of water from, say, water rich regions or countries to those that are water scarce.
While we look back at our achievements with pride and satisfaction, we believe that they are just a precursor to larger accomplishments ahead as we come closer to our Vision of building water from air as a new scalable and sustainable category of water.
